Girona tour - Jewish and secular

Explore Europe’s best-preserved Jewish Quarter

Led by a Jewish guide who speaks English and Hebrew

Girona is renowned for having the best-preserved Jewish Quarter in Europe. It is the birthplace of Rabbi Ramban (Moses ben Nachman), who established a yeshiva there. During the Middle Ages, Girona was referred to as “The Mother of Israel”.

The city is home to a Jewish History Museum located at the site of Ramban’s former yeshiva and a third synagogue of Girona. Girona has ancient Roman walls, contributing to the charming atmosphere of a medieval city.
